Coalition members speaking at the Planning Board Public Hearing on Data Centers on Feb 12th

Montgomery County Planning Board met on Feb 12 2026 to discuss the "ZTA 26-01, Commercial Uses – Data Centers" (see Council staff report here). Please click here to see the video of the Planning Board Public Hearing and the agenda.
We appreciate everyone who wrote to the Planning Board before the hearing on Feb 12th to express their concerns! A total of 279 pages of correspondence was sent to the Planning Board regarding the ZTA on data centers - see on Planning Board website "Correspondence Part A (155 pages)" and "Correspondence Part B (124 pages)".
According to the presentation by Ben Berbert, a zoning coordinator for Montgomery Planning, on Feb 12th, hundreds of correspondence recommend a moratorium:
